Pictures from my Clear Lake / Kemah / Galveston trip

Post by Captain YARRR » Thu Sep 11, 2014 4:15 pm

Had a great time last weekend! Pulled the boat down to the NASA Hilton which was fantastic. We had some drinks in the hotel bar, met some great local power boaters and had a great time with them. Got up in the morning and met up with our new friends at their lakefront house. Very good people. After that, we headed out to the shipping channel and ripped on down to the Harbor Walk Marina. Got some lunch, had some drinks and enjoyed the pool for a few hours. After that, we made our way back, stopped at the Turtle Club for a few drinks and pulled the boat out of the water.

Fantastic trip! Especially because the boat ran awesome. I definitely have flushed my small block fuel economy down the toilet with the power I'm making. I made somewhere between 1 - 1.5 MPG. My GPS trip meter messsed up or I'd have an exact figure. That was running pretty consistently 3.5k RPM.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing. I really like the Harborwalk development. I always wondered why the lots are not completely sold and built-up. Is it just crazy expensive or something else like Hurricane vulnerability or distance from Houston?

Great pic's sorry I just joined the site... We were out on the water too... Nassua Bay swimming.

If you make it down there again stop you should try http://www.pelicanrestmarina.com too. The pool is open. Offatts Bayou can be fun to raft up too.

G...it looked more built up this year. But still pretty empty. I wonder the same thing. Some ridiculous hardware on boat lifts there now tho.

That looks awesome! I'll check it out next time. What's further down the coast if I wanted to burn more gas?

Capt,

Not to much to the south till you hit Freeport. Going North stuff is being built. I want to run from Clear Lake to the new http://www.goldennuggetlc.com when it opens.

Oh hell yes, that looks like one great trip. I'd be in to trying that run out. Crossing state lines via boat sounds pretty fun too. I've heard people talking about that casino, sounds like it's going to be quite the place.

I think it will be a fun trip either run the coast or the Ditch (ICW). I'm ready to start planning LOL
