Re: What are you guys fixing this winter?

New exhaust hose in. The clamps holding those hoses on we're in pretty bad shape. Most of the old clamps just broke when I yanked on them. I ordered up some new hose, and new Clampco SS 316 marine grade clamps and got busy. About 4 hours start to finish. Huge pain in the butt, but not too difficult....

Re: Soldiers strapped to sides of Apaches for rescue

I know we have a lot of military folks on the site, I figured you'd have a good appreciation of this news story. Pretty cool story: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-430251/Pictures-Marines-strap-chopper-daring-rescue.html http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/01/apachegunMOS2101_468x381.jpg Aw...

Re: What are you guys fixing this winter?

Other than the scheduled engine oil and drive lube changes: My trailer brake calipers were in bad shape, with worn pads, plus the hardware and the pistons were very corroded so I simply replaced all them with new assemblies. I found a few water leaks where the wet exhaust meets the tips inside the b...

Re: Intro...

Hi John, Welcome to the site. Very nice Donzi. Great boat. Got a boating buddy out here on Oahu who has an 89 Crossbow (460's with King Cobra Drives). He let me drive it last month and damn that thing plows right through the snotty water we have out here. I get off the rock a few times a year and co...

Re: Motor oil brand poll

I changed the oil in both motors and changed drive lube this past weekend. Rinda scan tells me I'm at 251 hours on each side. That is about 28 hours since my last oil change in June. The oil came out looking fairly clean. Nearly 9 quarts on each side. It is expensive, but not as much as the lower un...

Re: Texas Boat Forums Fall Fun Run

Will LBJ have ramps or marinas that can handle larger boats launching. And if it's a public ramp can I feel reasonably safe leaving the truck and trailer behind? I need a decent runout thats not to steep at entry or the trailer will hang up and grind bad sometimes needing another truck to tug mine ...

Re: Pictures from my Clear Lake / Kemah / Galveston trip

Great pics. Thanks for sharing. I really like the Harborwalk development. I always wondered why the lots are not completely sold and built-up. Is it just crazy expensive or something else like Hurricane vulnerability or distance from Houston?
